How to Apply
Avis Foundation recommends reviewing the following guidelines or contacting us to determine if the project is a good fit before applying.
Letter of Inquiry
All grant applicants are required to submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI).
Requirements:
Letter should not exceed three (3) pages in length.
Send via mail (1909 S. Main St., Upland, IN 46989), email (marty.songer@avisfoundationinc.org) or submit online by March 1.
Submitted on organization’s letterhead.
Signed by the chief executive officer of the organization.
Grant proposals
If your LOI is approved, grant seekers will be required to submit a full grant proposal following grant guidelines by July 31.
Characteristics of a successful proposal:
The proposal aligns closely with one or more of the Foundation’s stated priorities and with the applicant organization’s strategic plan.
The proposal presents a compelling case by thoughtfully and succinctly addressing each of the narrative sections listed.
The proposal is leveraged to engage other donors through a match or challenge.
The proposed grant will support compelling outcomes and state clear and measurable results that can be achieved in one to three (1–3) years.
